THE LAST FLIGHT by Julie Clark – REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

Okay, so has anyone NOT heard about the new novel, THE LAST FLIGHT (SourceBooks)? I have, I read it and I’m glad I did. JULIE CLARK’S novel, THE LAST FLIGHT lives up to all the hype.

It’s about two women, both wanting to escape their lives. They meet at JFK and decide to switch flights, or do they? It’s each women’s last chance to flee her life.

Claire Cook is married into political royalty. Only her husband has a wicked temper and is a bastard behind closed doors. She has worked for months to finally leave. At JFK, she meets another woman equally desperate to flee her life. All they have to do is switch planes, right? Only the plane Claire is supposed to be one crashes and her husband will do anything to find her.

I don’t want to give anything away, but hold on to your seat. I found Claire and Eva to be strong woman protagonists who were easy to route for. I held my breath as I flipped pages until the end. I read this in one sitting it was so thrilling, But I must admit the time sequence through me off a couple of times. Perhaps I was reading too fast!

You will love THE LAST FLIGHT and will be on the edge of your seat waiting for it to become a film!

Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Julie Clark grew up reading books on the beach while everyone else surfed. After attending college at University of the Pacific, and a brief stint working in the athletic department at University of California, Berkeley, she returned home to Santa Monica to teach. She now lives there with her two young sons and a golden doodle with poor impulse control. The Ones We Choose is her first novel.

We have one copy to giveaway. Just tell us about the last flight you were on. Where’d you go and how was your trip? We’ll choose a winner soon. Good luck.

  2. The last flight i was on was to Israel and back last September. My first international flight, it was quite the learning experience. But I loved it, and can’t wait to be able to travel again. This book sounds like a wonderful thriller. Thanks for the opportunity. 💓

  3. The last flight I was on was probably about 12 years ago and it was to Las Vegas with my husband and his sister and brother in law. The flight was good out there but coming back I had restless leg all the way home and it was awful! We sure had a fun time in Vegas though!

    1. I get restless leg syndrome, too. Was this an overnight flight for you? I had a miserable time on an overnight international flight this past year. Everyone around me was asleep and I was twitching and having major anxiety for over 8 hours. Our return trip was a day flight and I had no problems! I will never take another overnight flight.

  4. I haven’t been on a plane in about 14 years! My daughter was about 18 months old at the time and she’s now 15. Myself, my daughter, and my husband flew to Florida in the winter to visit and stay with my grandparents for about a week. It was awesome!

  6. I was on a flight from hell several years ago. Took 9 hours from San Fran to Chicago. Turbulence and severe storms. Everyone on plane throwing up! I seriously though I would die. We gave tje pilot a standing ovation for landing us safely. I may never fly again!

  7. My last flight was to Ohio to visit my dad. The last time I was there was when I was 15 years old. It was nice seeing him but had a ton of cleaning to do in his home. He is a bit of a hoarder and can’t seem to get rid of stuff. It was a great time seeing my cousins but not so fun with my sister being very pushy telling us what to do.

  8. Great review! My last flight was returning from visiting my daughter, who currently lives in Germany. It was a long trip originating out of Zurich, Switzerland, with a layover of a few hours in London’s Heathrow Airport (I really dislike that airport). The flight was smooth. It’s hard for me to concentrate on reading when I am in the air, so I watched 3 movies, which made the time go faster. I don’t like to fly, but will do it again just so I can see my daughter.

  9. My last flight was a return trip from Florida and very uneventful. More interesting was a flight a few years earlier from visiting my daughter in Paris. Because of my age and not being able to walk a long distance, I chose to be transported in a wheelchair to my terminal at this huge airport. About 10 of us in wheelchairs were put into a van and transported to the plane. No one else was boarding and we were away from the terminal. The stewardess approached me and asked where we were going. I told her and she told us we were on the wrong plane. This plane was going to Egypt. The van rushed to the plane and took us to the correct plane. I don’t know if the plane waited for us or we got lucky.

  12. I don’t really like to fly, but my last trip was a girls trip to North Carolina and it was so much fun. My daughter travels a lot, so she is frequently upgraded to first class (the front row). My friend has “first class” on her bucket list, so when my daughter was offered the upgrade, she made my friend’s dream come true, complete with nice guy sitting next to her. We laughed the whole way home.

  13. I haven’t flown in 5 years. My flight was overseas. Going was very good but the flight home was very unpleasant and difficult. No food, ignored the entire time by the flight attendants.

  14. I haven’t been on a plane in over a year. The last trip was to the Christmas markets in Germany and Austria. The trip was ok except I got food poisoning and was sick for a couple of days, but my husband was one step away from a heart attack which we didn’t know and the doctors cleared him for the trip after a myriad of tests. We thought he had bronchitis and asthma. Shortly after we got home he had open heart surgery and today he’s fine.

The trip went well, considering it was a pretty small plane I went in, but over all it was a good plane ride. Thank you for the chance.
