  1. I became a single parent when my son was 5 years old. He and I are very close. It was challenging at times. I am very thankful for him.

  2. As someone who grew up with a father who left his young children and had no interest in a relationship with them, I can truthfully say that it negatively affected us for life. So for me I have always felt that a child needs both parents.

  3. Single motherhood has been done for generations. It’s challenging but with help of family and friends, it can be done. Sometimes, mother and child are very close. Not sure I could have done it but then when it has to be done, one makes it work.

  5. I have several sisters that are single mothers. They all have very hard jobs trying to be both the mom and Dad at the same time. They all do an amazing job and are raising amazing kids.

  6. I was a single mom with my first son and it is hard. I wouldn’t advise it to anyone. There’s a reason for the saying “It Takes a Village”.

This book intrigues me because my sister is about to get married to her same sex partner and have been talking about getting pregnant so it might help me relate a little more to their situation plus after I read the book I could pass it on to them 😁

  7. I have a 6 year old and I can only imagine what it like to be a single mom. My husband works long hours and gone for days at a time but still have him one or two days. I would hope they have a good support system because any mom needs that!

  8. There are a lot of single mothers out there and they do a really good job of raising their children. I’m sure it’s difficult and they should be given credit for their hard work.
