GREETINGS TO ALL “THOUGHTS ON THIS ‘n THAT” BLOG FOLLOWERS!
The HOLIDAYS are fast approaching and we’ve decided to do something a little different. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to feature some of our favorite authors and find out what they like best about the HOLIDAYS. We’ll also find out what their latest book project is.
Jackie Bouchard, Author
Author, Jackie Bouchard and I are both dog fanatics! We absolutely love, love, love our four-legged children. Jackie’s novels are all bestselling romantic comedies that include furry friends.
One of the best lines I’ve ever read, is in Jackie’s novel, WHAT THE DOG ATE.
“The vet handed Maggie Baxter a plastic specimen bag containing a pair of size-tiny lavender thong panties extracted from the dog: but they were not hers. Or rather, they were hers now, since she just paid $734 to have Dr. Carter surgically remove them from Kona’s gut.”
Her first novel, RESCUE ME, MAYBE is a heartwarming story about a woman who loses everything and is rescued by a scared stray furry mutt. HOUSE TRAINED is about a childless woman by choice who learns the true mean of love and self-acceptance from an unlikely source. WHAT THE DOG ATE is about a relationship that goes very wrong.
Her new novel, STRAY MAGIC, which was published last month, is about a woman working at a pet store who is not too lucky in love until a warm fuzzy corgi comes into her life.
We asked Jackie and Rita some questions about the Holidays and here’s what they had to say.
CR: Favorite Holiday.
JB: Thanksgiving because it’s simply about gratitude and food — and I love to eat!
CR: Favorite gift you’ve given?
JB: When my mom, who has since passed, turned 80, we, me and my siblings to her on a family trip to the mountains. We ate, played games, went for walks and just hung out. I prefer “experiences” over “things.”
CR: Favorite present you’ve received?
JB: My hubby gave me matching tea mugs that have two old dogs sitting and watching the ocean together that have “Growing old together” written on them. Love them.
CR: Favorite Holiday music?
JB: I love Christmas music, especially the old, classic stuff. My absolute favorites are “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and my Elvis Christmas album.
CR: Favorite Holiday mean and/or dessert?
JB: Pumpkin Pie
CR: Your message and/or wishes for 2018?
JB: Peace! Peace for the world in general; peace, serenity and individuality.
Thank you, Jackie and a big treat for Rita.
