In addition to our novels and reviews, we’re excited about something new we’ve added to THOUGHTS ON THIS ‘n THAT!
For all the moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grand-parents, teachers, educators who follow our blog, and might be interested in something special for the youngsters in your life to read, we’re introducing THE GREEN KIDS CLUB.
What is the Green Kids Club?
The Green Kids Club is designed to teach young children ( years 5-11) the importance of environmental stewardship through picture books. The series was developed to teach children the importance of protecting habitats, to sustain ecosystems, animal and ultimately human life. Difficult environmental issues such as poaching, habitat, encroachment, etc. are part of our stories.
This is our latest Green Kids Club story for kids. Victor and Maya travel to Chile, South America to visit their friend, Natalia. The kids explore the mountain side looking for gold, jewels and a chance to spot a rare Andean Cat. Local legend says seeing an Andean Cat can bring good luck. The kids enter a mine and as they enter, an earthquake shakes rock loose, that traps Maya in the mine.
Will she get out? Can the Andean Cat bring luck and save Maya
For a chance to win a copy of The GREEN KIDS: Chilean Mines with a doll of Maya just tell us what you do to stay “green” and help our world. Just leave a comment and we’ll announce a winner next week.
