The HOLIDAYS are fast approaching, so we’ve decided to do something a little different. Over the next few weeks, we’re going to feature some of our favorite authors and find out what they like best about the HOLIDAYS. We’ll also find out what their latest book project is.

Kaira Rouda, Author

We got to meet Kaira Rouda, while vacationing in Southern California. The best-selling, award-winning author, has written nearly one dozen books and Kaira has become a household name with her new thriller, BEST DAY EVER (Graydon House).day

“I glance at my wife as she climbs into the passenger seat, and I am bursting with confidence. Today will be everything I’ve promised her … and more.” BEST DAY EVER

Publisher’s weekly writes: “A tensely written, shocking book that will hold readers on the edge of their seats to the very last page.”

Good Housekeeping writes: “Chilling, satisfying suspense … it will cost you sleep as you race through its pages.”

I’ve read BEST DAY EVER and trust me, you don’t want to miss experiencing the heightened feelings of suspense, surprise and anticipation BEST DAY EVER delivers.

We sent some questions to Kaira about the upcoming Holidays, and here are her answers.

CR: Favorite Holiday?

KR: Thanksgiving. It’s a more simple time focused around gratitude. And it tends to get lost between Halloween and Christmas these days. I love being with my family anytime, but especially at Thanksgiving.

CR: Favorite present you’ve given?

KR: My favorite presents are when you see something and know immediately who it would delight. Those are the best presents. And I personally love to give my kids matching pajamas … and even thought they’re in their 20s, I will do it again this year. Our family gifts these days are spending time together and we love to travel as a group. I treasure our adventures.

CR: Favorite gift you’ve received?

KR: My favorites are handmade ones from my kids.

CR: Favorite Holiday Music?

KR: Amy Grant’s, “Tennessee”

CR: Favorite holiday meal and/or dessert?

KR: We’re a family of vegetarians and vegans theses days, with one hold out, so meals are interesting. But I love a plant-based, seasonal vegetable meal for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

CR: Message/wishes for 2018?

KR: My wish for 2018 is that our country comes together in unity, that we celebrate the diversity that makes us great, and that we are surrounded by peace, harmony and love this year.

BEST DAY EVER was the first in a two-book deal with Kaira’s, new publisher, Graydon House, so we expect book two to arrive in bookstores in the next year. You know we’ll  tell you ALL ABOUT IT!

  1. Wishing for a great New Year! 2017 has been a hard one for our family. Spending the most we can with my dad as these will be his last holidays with us as he’s only got a few months left to live. ❤️

  2. My wish is that the country stop all this madness, I am so afraid every day for my kids that live in Ca I don’t like to be apart but that is what happened. I also hope that 2018 finds my hubby with a new year around job. Also that we have a great New Year and we see the grandkids and kids in Ca this year!

  3. My wish is for others to embrace compassion and demonstrate this in all they do. To include posts, texts, and tweets. When you have compassion in your heart you start to respond differently to everyone and everything you are exposed to.
I pray you have a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas🎄🙏🏻🌟

  4. Wishing for my daughters to be happy and healthy. And for the oldest, who turns 16 on December 11th, to be safe on the roads and remember to put the phone down!

  5. My wish for 2018:
With all the books I’ve read this year I keep getting the same thought. People need to feel important and people need to feel wanted. We read books about domestic violence, split personalities, mental instabilities and we never really think about how many people this truly affects every single day. For the man or woman being physically or mentally abused I hope they realize that what’s happening to them isn’t their fault and they can change it. For those people who feel so alone and sheltered that they are reaching out in distructive manners I hope that someone notices and gets them the help they need. For the child or adult who is being bullied- I hope they can know that it will get better and to not let it get to them. I hope they talk to someone and get the help they need. I wish for people around the world to be less consumed with everything about “me” and more consumed with others. Be nicer. Do more. Be a better human in 2018.
