A provocative tale of forbidden love and one girl’s struggle for liberation.

In HANNA WHO FELL FROM THE SKY (ParkRow), readers get introduced to a young girl in a religious cult that must make the decision whether to stay or leave and start a fresh life with her own ideas.

Hanna has never been outside her secluded community of Clearhaven. She has never questioned why her father has four wives or why she has fourteen brothers and sisters. And in only one week, on her eighteenth birthday, Hanna will follow tradition and become the fifth wife of a man more than twice her age.

But just days before the wedding, Hanna meets Daniel, a stranger who challenges her to question her fate and to follow her own will. Then her mother tells her a secret—one that could grant Hanna the freedom she’s known only in her dreams.

As her world unravels around her, Hanna must decide whether she was really meant for something greater than the claustrophobic world of Clearhaven. But can she leave behind her beloved younger sister and the only home she’s ever known? Or is there another option – one too miraculous to believe?

With lush, evocative prose, Christopher Meades takes readers on an emotional journey into a fascinating, unknown world. Along the way, he brilliantly illuminates complexities of faith, identity and how our origins shape who we are.

HANNA WHO FELL FROM THE SKY is written well, but really creeped me out. There are entirely too many sects in this world where this really happens, and reading about it in a novel, disturbed me. But don’t be influenced by me, I couldn’t stand, HBOs “Big Love” or the freakish “Sister Wives” on cable. To each his own.

  1. My husband and I were driving to my hometown for my father’s funeral. My mother had passed away a few years prior to his passing. I was feeling so sad and it was a rainy evening. I looked out into the distance pondering all that happened and there was a double rainbow!! I knew my mother and father were together and all was well! A peace came over me.

  2. This book is one I am interested in reading. It facinates me how people can become cult members and leave all that is important to them.

  3. I’m religious and I pray everyday for blessings and protection around myself and my family. Protection not just for us from all the wrongs in the world, but from all the bad that may live in us. I believe that we are all just human trying very hard to be god’s.
