A Fairy Tale for DOG LOVERS

Author Jackie Bouchard’s new novel, STRAY MAGIC is simply “dog-tastic.”

From USA Today best-selling author Jackie Bouchard, comes a tale of love, laughter, and the profound magic of believing in yourself.

Cara Snow is newly divorced, stuck working for a jerky boss at a pet boutique, and dreading her soon-to-be-empty nest with only her beloved corgi for company. Worse still, her ex just got engaged. Doesn’t she deserve some romance, too? Or, at least a date for the Fur Ball. She’s always enjoyed the annual pet rescue gala, but this year her ex will be there with his fiancée. Meanwhile, Cara hasn’t met anyone— other than the irresistible dogs at the boutique’s adoption events.
Cara is shocked when her wish to fall for a man as easily as she does for those mutts summons Vincent. His velour track suit, paunchy belly, and tough-guy accent don’t exactly fit her childhood image of a fairy godfather. Not exactly on top of his game, he admits to being twenty-five years late. (Her daughter Winnie is convinced he must be there for her!) Vincent does his best and casts a spell “guaranteed” to help Cara find the One. But when she actually starts meeting men, none of them are her type. If only they were as perfect for her as the dogs they adopt. Did her screw-up fairy godfather botch the spell? If so, what will it mean not only for Cara but Vincent as well.

  1. My dog, Scout, was adopted from our local shelter and mears the world to me. He is my first kid (and usually mY best-behaved as well). Scout is always my snuggle buddy and best friend. When I am sad, he always cheers me up.

  2. What a cute story – Vincent seems to be quite the fairy godfather! Pep the Pug took us over 15 years ago and it continues. He’s old and gray, has had eye & back surgery, needs special food, daily eye meds & pills, a wheelchair and diapers but he’s still got the personality of that puppy who came bounding through the grass to meet us. Every more cuddly now than he was then and always makes us happy.

  3. We got our little Sprout after we lost our Heart dog. We couldn’t stop crying. But what we found out is there are more than one Heart dog. Sprout is her own person and nothing too much in personality like our first Jack Russell but she is deeply loved. And she adores me while our first dog loved her daddy!!

    1. Oh, it’s so hard to lose your heart dog. My last dog, Abby, was mine. But Rita helped patch up my broken heart. We are the same as you and your hubby… our first dog LOVED my hubby, but Rita is totally Momma’s girl.

  4. What a cute story. I have 3 King Charles spaniels. They mean the world to me. They are my sanity after a long day. Molly 9 Chubbers 7 and Sophia 3.

  5. I adopted two kittens this year from a shelter. Hamilton and Jefferson mean the world to me. They are so much fun and make me smile every day. Life would be so boring without them.

  6. Bogie, was a rescue from Lap Dog Rescue. He is smart, energetic, sensitive and a philosopher. He senses and knows whom to trust and is 15 pounds of a mix, Nfld, Chihuaua, and small terriers. Everyone loves his infectious personality and he is named after the one and only Bogie.

  7. All three of my furbabies mean the world to my husband and myself. We have two Yorkies and then when my son passed away in 2014 we took in his service dog a Jack Russell/ Pitbull mix. Thank you for the chance.
