secretsCan you feel it? The temperature is warming up! Memorial Day is just weeks away! And the beginning of summer means a new NANCY THAYER novel!

Darcy Cotterill loves working and living life full-time on Nantucket Island in Nancy Thayer’s new novel, SECRETS IN SUMMER (BallantineBooks). Shocked at first, but soon, she kind of accepts that her ex-husband, Boyz is renting a cottage next door with his wife, Autumn, the woman he left her for, and stepdaughter, Willow. We’re all grown up, mature and civilized. But it is an island, and a relatively small one.
Memorial Day kicks off the glamorous summer season and Darcy is all set to hit the beach with her gorgeous boyfriend, Nash and meet new summer friends, but she’s irked Boyz is there. Nantucket is supposed to be her Island. Her grandfather left the house to her in his will.
The pace begins to pick up and residents start to get into the flow of summer going to the beaches, marinas and shops. Darcy finds herself getting caught up in the drama of several residents all dealing with their own issues, which quickly become hers. Boyz’s stepdaughter, Willow tests boundaries in situations Darcy can’t ignore. A new arrival to the island has Darcy wondering if Nash is really the man for her. Darcy finds herself risking the security and comfort of her steady island life for an unexpected and unimagined happiness.
Nancy Thayer fans know what to expect when they pick up one of her novels and they won’t be disappointed with SECRETS IN SUMMER. It’s a lovely vacay to Nantucket and left this reader yearning to visit for a week or month or two, at least. The characters are complex, and family drama is compelling and you’ll finish too soon, wishing there was more.
Nancy Thayer is the New York Times bestselling author of The Island House, The Guest Cottage, An Island Christmas, Nantucket Sisters, A Nantucket Christmas, Island Girls, Summer Breeze, Heat Wave, Beachcombers, Summer House, Moon Shell Beach, and The Hot Flash Club. She lives on Nantucket.

  1. Oh my goodness! I have been a fan of Nancy Thayer’s for a long time! First off I’m Nantucket obsessed! I have read them all. I do not have a favorite but Spirit Lost was a bit different! I also favor the Christmas books! She is one of my go to summer beach reads. Love to take this one with me on my beach vacation!

  2. I love it when the beach reads start. Isn’t it funny how just seeing some authors’ names – like Nancy Thayer – make you want to pack up the car and go. Love them all, especially the Christmas stories.

  3. I’ve read Beachcombers and enjoyed reading it. I’ve been in love with so many covers of her other books. Sadly, I haven’t read any others yet. I do have some other of her books on my TBR list.
